Forensic Accounting Colleges

The Journal of Forensic Accounting defines the responsibility of a forensic accountant as analyzing and interpreting financial evidence to the courts or layman so it is understood with "scientific certainty," as fact. Forensic accountants are regarded as the authority for the courts to decide on whether wrongdoing in financial accounting has occurred.
  1. Florida Atlantic University College of Business

    • Florida Atlantic University College of Business offers a master's of accounting degree with a concentration in forensic accounting. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business has accredited FAU as a business college and it is ranked among the top 10 schools for passing the Certified Public Accountant exam by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. The university has several locations throughout the state.

    Franklin University

    • Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, offers an associate of science degree and a bachelor's of science in forensic accounting. The program prepares students for the Certified Management Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Public Accountant designations. Accreditations include the Higher Learning Commission. Franklin University holds a membership with the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities and is authorized by the Ohio Board of Regents.

    Georgetown University

    • Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., offers a certificate in forensic accounting for professionals who hold a bachelor's degree in accounting. The program consists of seven courses and prepares students to identify fraud, and covers fraud schemes, misappropriation, fraudulent financial reporting and expert testimony methods.

    Southern New Hampshire University

    • Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire, offers the forensic accounting and fraud examination graduate certificate. The program consists of four courses and can be completed in 12 months: Principles of Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination, Detection and Prevention of Fraudulent Financial Statements, Interview Techniques and Legal Aspects of Fraud and Investigating with the Computer. The program is intended for professionals with a degree in accounting or a background in accounting and finance.
