The American Intercontinental University, with campuses in Atlanta, Georgia, Houston, Texas, Weston, Florida, and London, England, offers a bachelor's of science in criminal justice with a specialization in forensic science. This program is available online through the university and can be completed in 12 months if prerequisite coursework has been completed through an accredited college or university. AIU will train you in juvenile and criminal justice, corrections, DNA analysis and evidence examination. Upon completion of this program, you will be trained to collect, examine and evaluate physical evidence from crime scenes as well.
Marshall University, located in Huntington, West Virginia, offers a master's degree in forensic science to students who hold a bachelor's degree in a related field. The master's program at Marshall allows you to complete this degree within two years in five semesters. This school also allows you to choose a specialty for your degree program in cyberforensics, DNA analysis, crime-scene investigation or chemistry. Students at Marshall are also offered a summer internship program in which you would work in the field to gain real-world experience.
Arcadia University, in Glenside, Pennsylvania, offers a master's degree in forensic science. If you have not yet earned a bachelor's degree in arts or sciences in a related field, Arcadia offers an accelerated program in which you can earn your B.A. or B.S. in three years, then earn your master's degree in forensic science in an additional two years. Through Arcadia, you will be able to participate in an intense 12-month internship with NMS labs, a nationally known forensic science laboratory.
The University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, offers a forensic science certification program to students while earning a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or biochemistry. At UNT's forensic science program, you will learn to perform DNA analysis, arson analysis, evidence identification and examination and crime lab technology utilization. While training in a laboratory environment, you will become prepared to work in forensic science labs across the United States.
