Ultrasound technology can be used in the industrial realm, although the equipment can be highly sensitive. For this reason, adequate training is essential for work in this field. Examples of these applications include measurement of flow, viscosity, temperature, density, pressure, and composition, as well as underground imaging and industrial mining.
The University of Washington offers training in industrial ultrasound through its Center for Industrial and Medical Ultrasound.
