Type what you want the label to communicate using a word processing program on a computer if you want to paper label the pencil. Personalize the label appropriately with a brief inspirational saying or famous quote. Also, the label may give the name of a company or organization which you are part of or a product which you are promoting. Make sure that the font is small and after printing out the label, cut the label, if needed, in order for it to fit on the pencil and affix it to the pencil.
Use a rubber stamp with durable, permanent ink to imprint a label on a pencil. The pencil needs to be light in color, such as yellow or white, so that the black ink can be seen on its surface easily. The pencil should also be wide enough so that the ink stamp is readable. To label a pencil in this manner, take the rubber stamper and press it into its ink pad, then press the inked stamp onto the surface of the pencil firmly making certain to not move the stamp after it has been pressed onto the pencil surface. Wait for the ink to dry for a few minutes before using the pencil.

For those who want to get labels for their children, the site offers a way to personalize labels for them. Click on the "pencil label" link toward the left of the screen on the It's Mine website. Then click on the green "Click here to make a label" link. A new screen will open in which you will see font, color and design options. A heart, soccer ball or star, among other items, may be on the label, as well as your child's name. Additionally, the label can come in your child's favorite color and font. Choose what you want the label to say and look like and order online. It's Mine is a South African company and their international orders are sent in 14 days.
