How to Draw a Cursive G

Cursive handwriting is a loopy, connected form of print which is taught to children in elementary school. In 2011 however, the teaching of cursive started falling by the wayside in place of keyboard typing. This worries many parents and educators since learning by doing is better than strictly visual learning. Each letter of the alphabet has its own cursive form for both the uppercase and lowercase version. The uppercase letter "G" is difficult for many people to remember because it bares very little resemblance to the printed "G."

Instructions

    • 1

Place the pencil's tip on the bottom notebook line. Draw a straight line upward which tilts slightly toward the right.

    • 2

Draw a loop at the end of the pencil line once the pencil's tip hits the top notebook line. Bring the loop down and intersect the first pencil line near its center.

    • 3

Hook the pencil line back up slightly, but not all the way to the top line. Drop it back down and curve it to the left when it reaches the bottom notebook line.

    • 4

Intersect the first line you drew, near its bottom. Hook the pencil line straight to the right but do not intersect the first pencil line again.
