The General Education Development (GED) consists of five examinations that cover writing, reading, social studies, math and science. Each subject area has several test forms/packet that cover the subject's content. Each test form/packet has questions in a different order to prevent cheating and the memorization of the test questions. The test forms/packets are numbered for easy distribution by the GED teacher. The GED teacher must keep track of which test form is given to each student in a student log.
