Look for information on fraternity and sorority rush. This period occurs at the beginning of the new academic year. During rush, fraternities and sororities invite potential new members to learn more about them.
Visit sororities during rush to learn more about them. View houses and speak to members. Different sororities will have different activities, as well as different requirements for their members, so ask around to find which one is right for you. Rush schedules and activities will vary from college to college, but they will usually involved tours of houses as well as discussions of sorority life.
Choose sororities in order of preference. You will usually do this on a ballot provided by the sororities. The exact procedure will vary, but the sororities will be able to tell you how to complete your ballot.
Submit your ballot. All the ballots will now be examined by the sororities to see if the members who requested them match the members they hope to recruit.
Wait to hear from sororities. If you're accepted by a house you applied to, you will become a preliminary member or "pledge."
