Sober Living Colleges

Sober living colleges are intended for students addicted to drugs or alcohol. These colleges allow addicted students to go through rehab while finishing their college degree. Such colleges strictly ban drugs and alcohol on the premises so that students do not face temptation. Though some colleges are designated as solely for "sober living" students, many mainstream colleges have sober living facilities and maintain "dry" status to keep drugs and alcohol away from all students.

    University of Wisconsin

    • The University of Wisconsin is a mainstream university rather than an institute only for sober living students. However, Wisconsin has a "dry" campus and maintains its commitment to this standard. Students are punished if caught with illegal substances on campus. Additionally, the university has sober living housing for addicted students or for students who want to avoid temptation. Mild addicts may find a more mainstream setting more appealing.
