How to Set a Header in an MLA Format

The Modern Language Association (MLA) is an organization covering the study of language and the literatures. As an aid to those writing on these subjects, the MLA has set forth strict guidelines in the presentation of information in publishable articles reports and books. Among these guidelines are those concerning the presentation of page headers. According to the MLA the headers should appear with the author's last name followed by the page number all in the upper right corner of each page. Placing this information on each page individually would be a tedious process, fortunately major word processing publishers have simplified the process, allowing you to set and forget the headers as they automatically label each page as you write.
