Georgia Tech, ranked one of the top 10 public universities in the U.S. by U.S. New & World Report, is one of America's best research universities. The College of Engineering has eight engineering programs that include the Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISYE). Named after 1999 ISYE Chair and Standard Group Inc. founder H. Founded in 1948 in Marietta, Southern Polytechnic is only 20 minutes from Atlanta and is known for its beautiful campus and experienced teachers. Its School of Engineering Technology and Management has six areas of study with a total of 20 available degrees and certificates. One of these areas is the Industrial Engineering Technology Department which offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering Technology, an M.S. in Quality Assurance, a Certificate in Logistics, a Certificate in Productive Design, a Certificate in Quality Principles, a B.A.S. in Manufacturing Operations and a B.A.S. in Supply Chain Logistics.

Founded in 1881, Spelman College is a private, historically Black liberal arts college for women. It has a campus with 25 buildings on 39 acres, located five minutes from downtown Atlanta. It offers 26 majors and 25 minors, sharing cross-registration with five partner institutions. It has a Dual Degree Engineering Program that allows students to earn a B.S. degree from Spelman and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from an engineering institution. The student spends three academic years in Spelman and two in a participating engineering school. Some courses have to be taken at Spelman, while engineering majors (one of them Industrial & Systems Engineering), may be taken in an engineering school.
