The government of India set up the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta in 1961 in collaboration with MIT's Sloan School of Management. The school offers a two-year course, which leads to a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), based on a competitive admission process. The PGDM program offers finance electives for those who want to specialize in this area. In their first year, all students are exposed to corporate finance and accounting topics. Students who opt to specialize in finance can take electives relating to risk management, financial derivatives and quantitative finance in the second year.
