HR Training Courses in India

Human resource courses in India are generally offered as postgraduate degrees, and many focus on human resource management and human capital. Students can pursue their degrees on a full- or part-time basis, and diplomas or master’s degrees are usually the types of degrees that are offered. Most Indian human resource programs last a total of two years.

The program prepares students with needed skills to pursue a career in human resources. Coursework includes HR planning, information systems, training, workforce development, marketing, Oracle database, behavioral psychology, macroeconomics, internal relationships, candidate selection, management and industrial relations. Students must also take electives with which they may further specialize, which include economics, finance, counseling, labor law, testing and strategic theory. To apply for the school, Indian students must register for XAT (Xavier Admission Test, which is a management school entrance exam) and attend the XAT conference. Foreign students must have taken the GMAT to apply.

    Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management

    • The Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management offers a two-year course in human resource management, and students who complete the program receive a master’s in human resource management degree. This degree is a combination business and human resources degree, and coursework focuses on businesses as a whole, interpersonal relationships, economics and business philosophies. Other coursework includes organizational behavior, research, statistics, management, HR basis, finance, law and internal relationships. This degree is accepted by the All India Council for Technical Education, the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the Indian Government and the Department of Education. Students must take the CAT (California Achievement Test, which is a basic academic skills test) test in order to be admitted to the school.

    Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur

    • The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur offers a two-year program where students can receive a master's of technology in human resources development and management. Coursework includes HR management, economics, behavioral psychology, communications and industrial relations. Students are also required to take several electives and write a thesis. Students must take the GATE test (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, which is an engineering multiple- choice test) and conduct a personal interview with school officials to be considered for admission.
