How to Find Out What Final Exam Grades Are

The difference between and an A or a D for the term may depend on your final exam grade in many college courses. After the mentally aggravating and physically exhausting preparation for the exam, you'll want to know your score as soon as you put your pencil down. The waiting is often the hardest part because it is up to the professor how fast you get to find out your fate.

Look at the final grade policy. Most schools have a written final grade policy that states when final grades are due, which is usually either a day or two days after the final exam. The final grade policy is your indication of when you should look for your final exam grade, because both grades will likely post at the same time.

Visit your school's website and access the student portion of the website. Most school websites allow students to log on to an account to view their grades. For example, the University of Pittsburgh uses the PeopleSoft Student Center program, while Rutgers students can log on to their account through the main Rutgers website to view their grade. Once you access your grades, you can click on your class to view a list of all of your tests and the corresponding grades.

Email your professor. If you cannot access your grades online, you can always email your professor. Since final exams usually indicate upcoming winter or summer breaks, some professors may not get back to you in a timely manner.
