How to Transfer to Los Angeles City College

Los Angeles City College is a two-year university that offers students a low-cost plan for building credits to transfer to a four-year school. If you have already spent time in a four-year university and would like to transfer to LACC, many of the credits you have already finished will carry over with your record. You can then transfer back to a four-year school once you have completed your studies at LACC.

  Contact the admissions office of Los Angeles City College for individual and specific instructions on transferring from your particular university.

  Take a look at LACC's areas of study on its website, lacitycollege.edu, provided in Resources. This will give you an idea of whether LACC can provide adequate classroom experiences for your chosen major.

  Complete LACC's application and registration procedure. The application and assessment can be completed online but you will need to visit the LACC campus for orientation and class registration.

  Work with an admissions official at LACC to transfer as many of your existing credits as possible to ensure your transfer does not set you back in your studies. Once these steps are completed, you should be ready for your new academic home.
