The Skin Care Center has trained budding beauticians in Alexandria, Virginia for the past 20 years. Courses at the Skin Care Center---which prepare students for the state board license test---provide instruction on permanent makeup, electrology, laser hair removal, microdermabrasion, and eye lash extension. The Skin Care Center offers financing for student tuition.

Spectrum Beauty Academy offers many beauty courses. During cosmetology classes, students learn how to color, weave, cut and perm hair, in addition to perfecting facials, manicures and pedicures. The esthetician/massage therapy course features training in personal hygiene and public health, facial treatments, makeup application, physiology and histology of the skin. In the barber course division, students learn theory and and techniques. For all courses, tuition includes opportunities for supervised work with the public.

Located on the edge of Alexandria and the neighboring town of Arlington, Graham Webb Academy trains students in hair and beauty techniques. With both a hair and spa clinic, the academy offers four career training courses: cosmetology, aesthetics, makeup, and advanced. The academy is licensed by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences and licensed in the state of Virginia. As of 2009, Graham Webb Academy is owned and operated by beauty industry professionals Vincent Rose Sr. and Christine Gordon.
