Collin County Community College in Plano, Texas offers a number of trade-oriented educational tracks. Vocational programs offered include computer-aided design and drafting, culinary arts, electrical engineering technology, fire science and surgical technology among others. Remington College offers two campuses for those near Collin County including one in Dallas and another in Fort Worth. Associate's degrees granted by Collin County area Remington campuses include culinary arts, criminal justice, business administration, digital graphic art and computer and network administration. ATI Career Training Center has three campuses in the greater Collin County area including three locations in Dallas and one in Garland. ATI receives accreditation from the Texas Workforce Commission and is a member of the Career College Association, Better Business Bureau and Career Colleges and Schools of Texas. Courses offered at Collin County area ATI Career Training Center campuses include manual trades such as electronics, HVAC, automotive repair and welding as well as health care, wellness and fitness programs.

The Art Institute of Dallas is the Collin County area's place for people who wish to learn a creative trade. The Art Institute of Dallas offers career training in media arts, fashion, design and culinary arts. Depending on their major, students may pursue either an Associate of Applied Arts, Associate of Applied Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Students have the option to take classes during the day full time or take their courses on nights and weekends. The career services department offers guidance for students on how to land their first job in the field. The career services department also hosts workshops and job fairs to make sure students are able to find gainful employment after graduation.
