Ashworth College offers an open-admissions Professional Heating and Air Conditioning program. Students may complete the program through either an online system or by distance learning using print materials. According to Ashworth's website, students will learn "fundamentals of servicing and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and cooling systems," and will be fully prepared for a job in the HVAC industry upon completing the program.
While there is no hands-on training, the program--which can be completed at the student's own pace in a time span ranging from approximately six months to two years--gives students the information needed to get an entry-level job with an HVAC company.
