Nurse Tech offers a CNA program to individuals in the Clarksville, Ind., area. Students learn skills such as vitals, hygiene care and transferring. Students learn through classroom instruction, group lab work and clinical hands-on experience. Daytime or night courses are available. Indiana Health Careers Vocational Training and Testing offers a CNA program that consists of 105 hours of training, 75 of which are reserved for hands-on clinical training. The program offers flexible scheduling. Students learn skills such as infection control, blood pressure, pulse respiration, documentation and clients' basic living needs, such as toileting, transfer and changing. The program helps prepare students for the state certification examination. DVDs, practice tests, opportunities to practice and tutoring are available for students. Indiana Health Careers Vocational Training and Testing claims its graduates have a 98 percent passing rating on the state examination. The cost as of 2010 is $375, which includes tuition, lab fees, physical and the state exam. Other fees include CPR training, first aid and tuberculosis test.

The Clark County Red Cross offers training to become a CNA. The 115-hour program consists of 40 hours of classroom work that teaches skills such as resident rights, anatomy, vital signs, nutrition and hygiene. Also included are 75 hours of hands-on clinical training at a state-approved and licensed long-term care facility. Students train in a workplace setting under the guidance of instructors and staff.
