    • TechSkills is a career-training institute that offers courses in many disciplines. The school combines instructor-led learning with online learning tools in order to provide an efficient learning process.

      TechSkills is based in Austin, Texas and has 16 campuses; including one in Houston. The 10-month medical transcription program covers medical terminology, federal regulations, medical office etiquette and other relevant topics. Additionally, this program helps students prepare for the Registered Medical Transcriptionist or RMT exam, which is a respected industry credential.

    The Transcription Connection

    • The Transcription Connection not only offers academic preparation but, additionally, the program gives students a chance to develop transcription skills using authentic audio reports from physicians. In addition to the basic coursework the school also offers skill-building labs in topics such as surgical procedures, anatomy and physiology, and career workshops.

      Once the program is complete, students are eligible to sit for the Certified Medical Transcriptionist Exam.

      You must be at least 17 years old with a high school diploma or a GED in order to enroll. Additionally you'll need computer experience. If you are under 18 years old, you'll need written permission from your parent or guardian before you can apply.
