EMS Programs Near Philadelphia

To work in emergency medical services (EMS), you must go through EMS training at an accredited hospital or college. EMS training programs offer both coursework and hands on experience. Emergency medical technicians are the first responders to emergency situations and provide the initial treatment to a patient, while transporting them to a hospital or other type of medical facility. Specific skills for emergency medical technicians include patient monitoring, administration of medications, airway management, CPR, patient assessment and control bleeding. While there is only one training center in Philadelphia, there are additional EMT training opportunities in outlying towns around the city.
