Scholarships for Technical Schools

Financing a post-secondary education doesn't need to be a daunting task. An abundant amount of scholarship money is available to help finance a technical school education. The scholarship awards vary in amounts and frequency.
  1. International Associate of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Scholarship

    • This technical school scholarship is available to members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and their children throughout North America. Members' awards are $2,000 annually until a bachelor's degree or two-year vocational or technical certification is achieved. Children of members' awards are $1,000 annually until a bachelor's degree is obtained or $2,000 annually until a vocational or technical certification is obtained. Applications for the scholarship are available in August 2010 on the Association's web site.

    Microsoft Corporation Scholarship

    • Microsoft is offering these scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year to undergraduate students in four categories: General, Women, Minority and Students with Disabilities. The scholarships cover partial or full tuition, and they're open to students in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Applications and further information are available on the Microsoft web site.

    Straightforward Media Scholarships

    • Straightforward Media is an Internet advertising firm that provides scholarships to American and international students. The following scholarships are among those available for technical school education:

      The Dale E. Fridell Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship offers quarterly awards of $1,000 each to eligible U.S. and international student. While students may use the scholarship money for anything related to education, students should not have received any full tuition scholarship or waiver.       Mesothelioma Memorial Scholarship: This technical school scholarship offers quarterly awards of $500. Applications are available online at Straightforward Media's web site.

    HOPE Scholarship Program

    • The HOPE (Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally) Scholarship offers annual awards for tuition, approved fees and a $100-per-quarter book allowance for students enrolled in degree programs at Georgia technical colleges. The scholarship is renewable annually as long as a student maintains a "B" average in all coursework, makes satisfactory progress toward the degree and reapplies through the college's financial aid office.

    Orleans Technical Institute High School Scholarship Award Program

    • The Orleans Technical Institute High School Scholarship is awarded annually for high school seniors who enroll in the institute's Associate in Specialized Business degree in Court Reporting program or one of the building trades programs. Building trades program studies include Residential & Commercial Electricity as well as Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating. Scholarship award amounts are half tuition for the court reporting program and full tuition for the building trades programs. Application packets are available online at the institute's web site.
