Oregon Institute of Technology is a technical school located in Kiamath Falls, Oregon. The school offers degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Since 2005, the school has featured a Renewable Energy Engineering Program that focuses on wind and geothermal energy as well as photovoltaic power systems, biofuels, renewable energy transportation, fuel cells, ground-source heating systems and green buildings. Many students graduate with a bachelor of science in renewable energy systems in North America. The school campus is also heated by geothermal energy.

Students study how to evaluate turbines and prepare to operate, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical issues in wind turbines.
Texas State Technical College West Texas has campuses in Abilene, Breckenridge, Brownwood and Sweetwater. The school specializes in wind energy technology, teaching students to operate and maintain a variety of turbines, including electrical, pneumatic, communications, computer, control and hydraulic turbines. The school also offers hands-on experience by allowing students to practice on a wind turbine on campus. Many students graduate with a certificate in wind energy and turbine technology.
