    • McGill University in Montreal has a civil engineering department that is combined with the applied mechanics department. The program is divided into undergraduate and graduate study, with 15 full-time faculty members, 200 undergraduate students and 80 graduate students, according to McGill. All professors are also practicing civil engineers, who can provide real world experience in the classroom.

    Univeristy of Waterloo

    • The program at the University of Waterloo takes a multi-disciplinary approach to civil engineering, allowing students to also complete courses in environmental and geological engineering in conjunction with the faculty of earth sciences and architecture. The University of Waterloo offers co-op courses for students opening opportunities to gain real world experience in civil engineering.     University of British Columbia

    • Ryerson University houses a civil engineering program for undergraduate and graduate students. A unique feature of Ryerson is its program that allows undergraduate students in good academic standing to apply for the industrial internship program (IIP), which consists of 12-16 months of full-time paid study.
