South Suburban College offers an American Health Information Management Associate certificate program for those interested in a coding and records career. Located on the main campus in South Holland, Illinois, this is a full-time day or evening program. Some courses include Intro to Medical Records, Fundamentals of Medical Terminology, Medical Terminology, ICD-9 Coding, CPT Coding, Essentials of Human Diseases and Outpatient Billing and Reimbursement. Entrance to the program requires completion of Medical Office Foundation, Human Body Structure and Computer Literacy and Applications. Brighton College is a nationally accredited school (Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council) and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
