The United States National Commission for UNESCO is a part of the U.S. State Department. The main focus for this agency is to improve "humanitarian development" by coordinating educational opportunities. The UNESCO effort is so involved, it is further broken down into categories where resources can easily be found. For example, the international educational resources for this agency are linked to the website for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Exchanges.State.Gov/. Here information can be found about the resources and funding available.

UNESCO recommends the the International Education Financial Aid website, IEFA.org, for finding other international school funding. The IEFA site has more than 1,000 listings for scholarship or grant programs for international study as an undergraduate or graduate student. IEFA is part of a series of international sites owned and operated by the Envisage International Corp. The Envisage sites are recognized by UNESCO as excellent tools that help students who study abroad or who wish to study abroad. Other Envisage sites providing grant and scholarship information and resources include InternationalScholarships.com and InternationalFinancialAidBlog.com.

UNESCO also recognizes Terra Viva Grants as an excellent source for educational funding. Terra Viva is an Internet directory of grant makers who provide funding on an international level. The website divides the grant makers into three basic groupings: Foundations and Non Governmental Organizations, Government Organizations, and International Organizations. Although Terra Viva only manages information about grants, it also provides detailed information about the organizations that do offer grants and the links to those organizations.
