Graduate Degree Colleges

There a variety of graduate degree colleges available to the potential graduate student. When choosing a graduate college or university, you should consider the field you want to study and the career you wish to pursue. There are many different programs within a college or university that offer different graduate-level degrees. Master's degrees can generally be completed in one-to-two years, while a doctorate program can take up to six years to complete. The most prestigious and long-standing colleges offer graduate-level study programs in fields such as business, sciences, education and fine arts.

    Massachusetts Institute of Technology

    • The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is one of the country's leading institutes of higher education study in mathematics and the sciences. In 2011, US News and World Report ranked MIT No. 1 in graduate-level study of mathematics, chemistry, computer science, earth sciences, engineering, economics and physics. Furthermore, MIT was ranked No. 2 in graduate-level study of biological sciences.

    Rhode Island School of Design

    • The Rhode Island School of Design is ranked No. 1 in graduate-leve study in fine arts. More specifically, US News and World Report ranked the following fine art programs No. 1: glass, graphic design and interior design. Only master's degrees in fine arts are awarded; however, the Rhode Island School of Design is one of the world's most preeminent colleges of art and design.
