Georgia MBA Programs

The MBA, or Master of Business Administration, is a graduate degree granted to students studying how to oversee business operations and make key decisions in the corporate world. Courses are typically given in subject areas such as accounting, human resources and marketing. The state of Georgia has dozens of MBA programs, usually offered in the state's four-year colleges and universities.
  1. University of Georgia

    • A public research university located in Athens, Georgia, the University of Georgia is the oldest and largest institution of higher learning in the state. The MBA program of its business school--the C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry College of Business--is perennially ranked as one of the 50 best in the nation in publications such as "U.S. News & World Report" and "BusinessWeek." The two-year program has five specialties: Finance, Real Estate, Market & Consumer Management, Entrepreneurship and Operations Management. The program also has a Fast Track option for working professionals and an 18-month Executive MBA program for business executives.

    Georgia Institute of Technology

    • Another perennial Top 50 ranker in publications like "U.S. News & World Report" and "BusinessWeek," the MBA program of Atlanta-based Georgia Institute of Technology--nestled in its School of Management--requires at least 54 credits for completion. Georgia Tech also has a dual degree option; students can pursue an MBA and another graduate degree within the school.

    Emory University

    • As a private research university in Atlanta, Emory University has a traditional, two-year MBA program that includes a summer internship and dual degree possibilities. Applicants who already possess strong business or economics backgrounds--or at least are much clearer about their career goals--would be better suited for the stripped-down, accelerated one-year option. Although Emory, like the University of Georgia, has the Executive MBA program, it is estimated to take 3 months longer to finish.

    Clark Atlanta University

    • A private, historically black university in Atlanta, Clark Atlanta University encourages MBA applicants to have at least two years of working experience. Requiring at least 60 credits for completion, CAU's MBA program also has a "working professional" option for those who wish to take classes part-time while maintaining their day jobs.
