Students attending business school are usually concentrating on obtaining a master's or doctoral degree in a business field. The choices for those degrees, though, have expanded as business schools have added executive education programs, dual degrees and part-time degree programs to the academic offerings. As students are working on their degrees, they may be able to specialize in areas such as accounting or human resources.     • Harvard University Business School in Boston, Massachusetts, scored 100 percent in the U.S. News and World Report's survey, and so earned a first place ranking. The business school offers a Master of Business Administration, and students can work with other graduate schools within the university to obtain a joint degree.     Stanford University

    • With a score also of 100 percent that tied the school for first place on the ranking with Harvard University, Stanford University is located in Stanford, California. Besides the traditional Master of Business Administration, Stanford offers several joint and dual degree programs such as MBA/MPP (Master of Public Policy) or MBA/JD (Juris Doctor, a law degree). New students begin studies in the fall.

    Massachusetts Institute of Technology

    • Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management ranked third in the listing with a score of 94 percent. Sloan also offers students a traditional Master of Business Administration, as well as dual or joint degrees that combine biomedical, engineering or public administration coursework. Sloan starts new students in August of each year.

    Northwestern University

    • A score of 93 percent brought Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management into an overall rank of fourth place. Students attending Kellogg can pursue undergraduate degrees, a Master of Business Administration, executive education or a doctoral degree. New students may only begin classes at the school in the fall semester.

    • At 92 percent, the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business earned a fifth place ranking. Booth offers a Master of Business Administration with day, evening and weekend classes, as well as executive education and a doctoral program. Booth also starts the new students in the fall semester.
