How to Cite a Lecture in College

Formal writing styles were developed to provide guidelines for scientific writing. Uniform writing also improves readability of a document. The American Psychological Association and Modern Language Association developed the APA and MLA writing styles for the social sciences and humanities. The APA and MLA are the most commonly used writing styles in colleges and universities. The Chicago style of documentation was developed by the University of Chicago Press to provide guidelines for editorial writing. Each of these writing styles provide guidelines for referencing class lectures used for a document.
