Place the title of the textbook in italics. Cite the author's name either before or after the title of the textbook, based on your preference, and include the publishing date in parentheses. For example, if you have a textbook written by Felix Cohen, you can cite -- "Cohen, Felix: Name of Textbook (1941)" -- with the title of the textbook and the publishing date in italics.
Create a space directly beneath the author's name, textbook title and date for an ISBN, which stands for International Standard Book Number. It's typically found on a textbook's back cover or inside the book within the first few pages. Including a textbook's ISBN assists students in finding it, particularly if they're purchasing the textbook online.
Place the name of the publisher directly beneath the textbook's ISBN. Providing students with the publisher's name also makes it easier for them to locate the textbook.
Add locations regarding where the book can be found. Directly beneath the author's name, textbook title, publishing date, ISBN and publisher, list places where the textbook can be purchased. For example, you can write "Available in campus bookstore" or "Available in university bookstore and online."
