The California-based Loma Linda University is a Seventh-day Adventist institution of higher learning specifically dedicated to health care job training. Its School of Dentistry offers two tracks in the endodontics field. The Master of Science (MS) degree track is designed for those who wish to be professors and researchers. This is set apart from the less intense Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree, which unlike the MS, does not require Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores as part of the application package. The MS and MSD curricula exceed 150 credits, designed for completion within 27 months. Courses include Basic Microsurgery Technique, Implant Dentistry and Clinical Oral Pathology.
A private research university located in Boston, Massachusetts, Tufts University offers a postdoctoral endodontics program. Its courses include Biochemistry of Endodontics, Epidemiology, Mechanisms of Dental Pain, Oral Microbiology, Pain and Anxiety Control, and Biochemistry of Endodontics. The program at Tufts is designed for completion in 24 months, which is a shorter length of time than the academic tracks at Loma Linda.
