Get your award letter that you received when you applied for a Pell or other grant. This is the document that outlines in clear language how much money you received, for what school and for what school year. Make an appointment at IVCC's financial aid office. Tell the receptionist you need to see a counselor about transferring to another college. Place your letter of acceptance to Eureka College with your award letter, so you can bring both documents with you to your appointment.
Go to your appointment at IVCC's financial aid office and explain what grants you want to transfer to Eureka College. The financial aid officer will assist you either with direct help or information regarding your particular grant package. Grants given to you by IVCC itself will not be transferable. Grants given to you by private foundations or the state may be transferable, but your financial aid officer will be the only person who can determine that.
Transfer your Pell grant. To transfer your FAFSA Pell grant, you have three options. You can call the Federal Student Information Center at 800-433-3243, or you can go online to your original FAFSA application and change schools, provided you have your FAFSA personal identification number. You can also contact the Eureka College financial aid office, make an appointment and have the officer help you transfer your Pell grant to Eureka. Keep in mind that your Pell award will be prorated and the award amount may change depending on the cost to attend Eureka College.
