The FAFSA PIN is a unique, four-digit numerical code assigned to each student applicant. The PIN enables students to check the status of their current applications, and maintain access to their accounts for future purposes. But first the student user must fill out a PIN application to receive a unique number. A PIN must be obtained from FAFSA, as it cannot be created by the student user. Obtaining a PIN is a process, but once you've filled out the application, you'll need to check the PIN status periodically to see your account and application status.
