Non-traditional Career and Special Populations Grant. The grant provides assistance with tuition, textbooks and transportation costs. To be eligible, students must be a resident of Michigan and be a single pregnant woman (there are other students who are also eligible for this grant based on employment). There are also income guidelines the student must meet.

The University of Iowa Childcare Subsidy helps pay for childcare of University of Iowa students. To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled at the university half-time; be seeking an undergraduate, master's or professional degree; and be a custodial parent to a child under the age of 13. Applications are completed online through the University of Iowa website.

The Ohio State University Critical Difference for Women Re-Entry Scholarship is designed to help women who have interrupted their college careers for at least two years. Funds given to scholarship recipients can be used for all educational needs including tuition and books. To be eligible, women must be enrolled or admitted to the Ohio State University, demonstrate financial need and have a good academic record and educational goals (preference is given to women who are enrolled at least half time or more).

Sister Thea Bowman Foundation Knights of Columbus Scholarships offer a four-year grant in the amount of $37,500 per year for five single black mothers to study at the College of St. Mary in Omaha, Nebraska. The deadline for U.S. applicants is March 1 and for Canadian residents May 1.

The Women in Transition and Women in Need scholarships through the Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting provides financial assistance to female reentry students who wish to pursue a degree in accounting. Initially designed for women who have become the sole source of support for their family through divorce or death, the scholarship committee also considers women who are single parents as a result of other circumstances. Applications must be postmarked by May 1.

Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards provides funds to women who are the primary financial support for their families. The deadline for applying is December of each year. To be eligible, recipients must have a financial need, be enrolled or accepted in a vocational or undergraduate degree program and reside in one of the member countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guam, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, United States of America or Venezuela). The applicant cannot be a member of (or have a family member in) Soroptimist. Applications must be submitted via email only.
