Grants for Mothers Returning to College

Mothers returning to school are generally looking to pursue undergraduate or advanced degrees so that they can better support their families. Generally, women who return to college are nontraditional students, meaning that they are older than their peers. Students can use most of these grants for any type of degree or major, but a few require that students pursue a particular major.
  1. Women in Transition

    • The Women in Transition scholarship, funded by the Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting, goes to women returning to school as incoming or current freshmen. The grant is merit-based, and students can receive up to $16,000 for four years of college. Students must be pursuing a degree in accounting, must show financial need and must have established goals for their career. Winning applicants can apply for three-year extensions dependent on course completion. The deadline for the scholarship is the spring.
