This scholarship is given to high school seniors that are entering a university, college, or vocational school. The applicant must be or have been a dependent of the Los Angeles County Court. Three to four seniors are chosen by Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) to receive the awards that range from $1,500 to $3,000.

California State's Fullerton campus offers a grant specifically for students who are leaving the foster care system and entering California State college. The program accepts up to 12 new students each fall and provides students with full scholarships. In addition, the program also offers year-round campus housing, help finding on-campus student employment, counseling, mentoring and post-graduation career planning.

This $5000 scholarship is awarded to students who are currently or formerly in the foster care system, age 22 or younger, and are pursuing college, technical training or career training. The scholarship can be used at any participating California college. Students must stay in their school or training program in order to renew their scholarship each year.
