There are four categories of eligibility for the educational grant offered by the Montgomery G.I. Bill, each contingent upon the amount of time served and the year in which applicant entered military service. The bill covers up to 36 months of education, and can be used over a period of ten years. Those who put $600 into their scholarship received drastically increased monthly stipends.
