Full athletic grants are available to participants of all major NCAA sports at Washington State University. Football players with strong academic records and exemplary athletic promise are awarded scholarships at the discretion of the team's head coach. The grant is awarded in an amount that will cover room and board, tuition, books, mandatory fees, and course fees, which in 2010 is $20,947 per year for in-state students and $31,989 for out-of-state players. As per NCAA regulations, students are responsible for their transportation costs and miscellaneous fees that arise from college attendance.

Central Washington University awards the Ed & Karen Reich Academic & Athletic Excellence Scholarship annually. The scholarship is available to incoming freshman or transfer students from small high schools in eastern Washington who will be playing basketball or football at Central Washington University. A GPA of 3.2 or higher in either high school or the school from which a student is transferring is required. The amount of the scholarship is determined anew each year. Recipients will be nominated each year by the Athletics Department. Preference is given to students who major in Business.

The University of Washington awards scholarships to football players through its Tyee Club. Scholarships within each of the 21 sports at the school are given at the maximum NCAA allowance, funding the education of over 650 students at the school. Football players are eligible for partial scholarships of $5,000, half scholarships of $7,500, and full scholarships of $15,000.
