Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, Ryerson Theatre School has trained artists as diverse as Eric McCormack, star of television's "Will and Grace," and Camillia Koo, a Governor General Award winning designer. Ryerson offers three separate Bachelor of Fine Arts programs: Performance Acting, Performance Dance and Performance Production. The school taps into the city's thriving theatrical scene by encouraging visiting actors and directors to provide guest lectures and workshops to students in the program. Ryerson productions are staged in the school's two theaters, the Abrams Studio and the 1,250-seat Ryerson Theatre.

George Brown School of Performing Arts offers training for actors and dancers, with a unique approach. Both programs feature residencies with professional companies throughout the student's training. Actors train at the Young Centre for Performing Arts alongside the renowned Soulpepper Theatre company, with daily interactions with professional actors. The dance school offers a program that allows students to gain professional experience touring as dancers with Ballet Jörgen dance company. Both actors and dancers perform regularly, with as many as five productions staged by the school each year.
