Located in downtown Miami, the New World School of the Arts is a college devoted to educating and training students to obtain prolific careers in the performing arts. Students who are in high school as well as college students who want bachelor's degrees are eligible to join the NWSA. With a combination of group classes and one-on-one private lessons, the school offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degree programs in theater, dance, music and visual arts. With campuses in Miami, Tampa and Jacksonville, Miami International University of Art and Design trains prospective artists with original creative visions to excel in the performing arts. The school offers bachelor's degree programs for design-related fields such as graphic design, visual and entertainment arts and interior design, as well as master's programs for visual arts, graphic design and interior design. For media arts programs, the school provides bachelor's degrees in photography, film and digital production and computer animation, as well as master's degrees in computer animation and film. Fashion-related programs offered by the school include associate's degrees for fashion design, accessory design and fashion merchandising, and the school also provides bachelor's degrees for fashion design and fashion merchandising.
Florida International University offers two bachelor's degree programs for ambitious performing arts students. The school's Bachelor of Fine Arts program focuses on acting, increasing the theatrical knowledge of prospective actors and improving their technical abilities so they can reach their artistic potentials. The program also includes a performance specialty that requires students to take seven acting classes along with dialects, miming and stage combat courses. Florida International also offers a Bachelor of Arts in Theater degree, which entails courses regarding many different areas of theater including theater history, acting, stage direction and stagecraft.
The University of Miami offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in performance degree programs consisting of small classes that emphasize the creative crafts of acting, singing and dancing. Classes also will strengthen the acting technique, speech skills and body movement control of its students, and many courses are taught by professional actors and directors who are highly regarded in the performing arts community. The school also offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theater. In addition to acting classes, this program also requires students to increase their theatrical abilities through courses pertaining to music, music theory, musical production and dance technique.
