The New York State United Teachers awards the Sandy Feldman Leadership Grant. The award commemorates the career of teacher and social justice activist Sandra Feldman. Fellow teachers who are union members nominate colleagues who they feel are deserving of the award and who demonstrate leadership qualities and a commitment to civil rights issues. The $2,000 grant is to be used for union activity expenses, conference and leadership training. Nominees must be in good standing with NYSUT.

United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton established a leadership award for women funded by the Rockefeller Foundation in 2010. The grant is to support innovative programs that seek to empower women and girls. Two winners receive grants of up to $500,000 each. Applicants must email a concept paper for a pre-selection process. A committee reviews the papers and selects applicants that are invited to submit full proposals. The proposals must include detailed project and budget plans. Winners will attend an award ceremony at the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C.

Female vascular surgeons are eligible for leadership training grants from the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS). Recipients use the grant for activities such as leadership training programs such as those offered by the Association of Medical Colleges. Surgeons must be members of SVS, under 50 years old, have been in practice for a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 years. Applicants must submit copies of at least three of their publications and two letters of recommendation along with their application.

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) awards individual grants to women who want to participate in personal leadership development events such as conferences and workshops. Recipients receive $500 for domestic events and $1,500 for international events. Applicants must submit a recommendation from another church member. Presbyterian women who are members of the church in the United States or a foreign church affiliated with the denomination are eligible for the grant.
