The Red Cross has offered CNA training programs in the United States for over two decades. Their programs, taught by registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs), are high quality and teach students about patient care, from assisting in basic patient hygiene to taking vital signs.
Not all Red Cross locations offer nurse assistant training. There are only 36 Red Cross Chapters that do, including those located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Los Angeles, California.
The time and length of classes vary by program location. For example, the program in Rome, Georgia is offered during the day and is either three or six weeks long (full or part time), while the program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is full-time and four weeks long.
