Aveda Hair Schools

Aveda was founded in 1978 and manufactures professional plant-based hair and skin care products. Aveda also offers professional training at their Aveda institutes. The first Aveda Institute opened in SoHo New York City in 1994. In 2001, Aveda opened the London Academy, the first Aveda institute outside the United States. The Aveda institutes offer programs in a variety of disciplines including massage, nail technology and hair design, and some schools only focus on certain disciplines. Today, there are a total of 55 Aveda institutes around the world, and 51 of those schools focus on hair design.
  1. U.S. Schools

    • As of 2010, there are 47 Aveda hair schools in the United States and the District of Colombia. The schools are located across the country and appear in large metropolitan areas, such as Los Angeles, California and New York City, as well as smaller cities, such as Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Austintown, Ohio.     Canadian Schools

    • Aveda has three hair design schools in Canada. The Aveda Institute Calgary is near the west coast in Calgary, Alberta, as is The Aveda Institute, Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia. The Aveda Institute, Toronto is closer to the east coast, in Toronto, Ontario.

    The Australian School

    • Aveda has one hair design school in Australia. The Aveda Institute, Melbourne is located in Melbourne, Victoria, on the south-eastern tip of the Australian continent.
