The first objective of the MOS exam is to validate the applicant's knowledge and ability to manage messaging in Microsoft Outlook 2007. Applicants must create and send an email message, as well as create and manage signatures and automated messages. The ability to manage email attachments and configure email message sensitivity and importance settings is tested. Email security settings are a priority, and you must be able to manage security settings. The ability to configure message delivery options and view email messages is an essential part of the first MOS exam objective.
The second objective of the MOS exam is to validate the applicant's skill and ability to manage scheduling in Microsoft Outlook 2007. This part of the exam requires you to create appointments, meetings, events and send meeting requests. Applicants must be able to update, cancel and respond to meeting requests. Your ability to manage calendar requests, customize calendar settings and view other calendars by color is tested.
The third objective of the MOS exam is to evaluate the applicant's ability to create, modify and mark tasks as complete. To be MOS-certified, you must demonstrate the ability to accept, decline, assign, update and respond to tasks in Microsoft Outlook 2007.
The fourth objective of the MOS exam is to demonstrate the ability to manage contacts and personal information by creating and modifying contacts in Microsoft Outlook 2007. Applicants must be skilled in editing and using an electronic business card. Distribution lists are an essential clerical tool, and you must be able to create and modify distribution lists and create a secondary address book.
The fifth and final objective of the MOS exam is to demonstrate the ability to organize information using Microsoft Outlook 2007. Applicants must categorize items by color, create and manage Office Outlook 2007 data files and organize mail folders. You must demonstrate the ability to locate Office Outlook 2007 items by using the search feature within the mail program and create, modify and remove rules to manage email messages. The final objective requires you to exhibit the ability to customize Office Outlook 2007 features according to the your personal preference. This means organizing the start page, window viewing options and choosing options to be displayed on the start page.
