A nutrition major should take a student four years to complete. During this time you will learn food science, human nutrition and life cycle nutrition among many other aspects about nutritional science. Internships are encouraged while working on completing the major as they give students an added insight to what they are learning. Harold Washington College is one of the colleges offering nutrition majors in Washington. Through their AAS or Associate in Applied Science degrees students are able to take nutrition as their major. With an AAS degree, students may go directly into the workplace.
