Pennsylvania Universities of Law

According to Find Law, the state of Pennsylvania is home to seven universities of law. The largest schools are Pennsylvania State University, University of Pennsylvania, Temple University and the University of Pittsburgh.   1. Pennsylvania State University

    • The Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University offers Juris Doctor and Master of Laws (LL.M) degree tracks. The LL.M track is open to foreign law students wishing for educational expansion on a United States university campus. Students of both tracks may pursue interdisciplinary study in other departments, such as international relations.

    Duquesne University

    • The School of Law at Duquesne University offers LL.M degrees and standard J.D. degrees as well as combination degrees blending J.D. studies with a master's degree in another field. Dual degree options include business administration, divinity, health care ethics and environmental science and management.

    University of Pennsylvania

    • The University of Pennsylvania law school offers a wide range of joint graduate degrees in conjunction with a J.D. degree. Students may pursue studies in criminology, education, public administration, bioethics, social policy, social work, Islamic studies or philosophy. Motivated students may petition to create an ad-hoc dual degree program to suit a need not met by current offerings.

    University of Pittsburgh

    • The University of Pittsburgh School of Law has J.D. concentrations in health, intellectual property, international, environmental laws and crimes against humanity studies. The school allows second-year students to participate in clinics designed to give students in an interactive learning environment with practicing attorneys. Clinic themes include taxpayer, elder, environmental, family, health and immigration law.

    Temple University

    • The primary areas of study at the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University are trial advocacy, business and tax, international law, intellectual property, legal research and writing and public interest. The university offers law students clinics, the opportunity to design a dual degree program and a chance to receive a certificate in business law.
