UK Law Colleges

The United Kingdom is made up of three distinct countries, England, Scotland, Wales - which is a principality - and the territory of Northern Ireland. Law has a long and distinguished history as a profession as well as an academic discipline. It has been taught and studied at Cambridge University alone for more than six hundred years and remains an important and lucrative career path.

      Bristol University is one of the oldest and most highly regarded UK colleges. Situated in the heart of the historic port of Bristol on the South West coast of England, the School of Law offers a range of programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Six LLB programs offer degrees including a three year law course and five courses lasting four years which combine either Chemistry or a year of overseas study. The five postgraduate programs offered by BUSL include an MA in Law, MSc in Socio-Legal Studies and PhD. Students are encouraged to choose specialisms from the full legal spectrum including commercial, public and maritime. As of 2010, bursaries of $1,460 were available for up to eight international students. The application process and deadlines are available on the University website.

    University of Glamorgan

    • According to Graduate Destinations Survey 2007, 97% of law graduates of Glamorgan University were either in employment or further study within six months of graduating. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers six undergraduate programs including commercial and criminal law. All programs can be studied in flexible combinations of evening, day, part and full-time. The University also offers six postgraduate programs which include a choice of three Masters degrees, two Postgraduate Diploma's and a one year conversion course for non-law graduates who want to enter the legal profession.

    Edinburgh University

    • As the capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh has an ancient and visible history. As of 2010 The University Law School offers 29 courses to international students covering a variety of legal disciplines. Living expenses range from $185 - $425 per week, depending on the type of accommodation required. For others, the most cost effective option would be to rent a University self-catering room on campus.     Cambridge University

    • With a famous history of law studies since the thirteenth century, Cambridge University is well established and recognized globally as a provider of first class education. The Faculty of Law has more than seventy lecturers and approximately one thousand students studying at undergraduate, Masters and postgraduate research level. As of 2010 the estimated cost of Undergraduate study at Cambridge University was $28,160 for the first year with subsequent rises thereafter. Costs for postgraduate courses offered by the Board of Graduate Studies are available on request and depend on the length and type of course chosen.
