How to Take the NCLEX-RN Exam in Utah

Utah students that graduate from nursing programs, as well as nursing graduates from elsewhere that want to become licensed nurse in the state of Utah, are required to take and pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) prior to obtaining the licenses required to practice in Utah. When you are ready to take the NCLEX-RN, you must begin the process by submitting an application for acceptance to the Utah Board of Nursing.

      Log in to your Pearson Vue account to schedule your NCLEX testing date. If you do not have a Pearson Vue account, visit their website (vue.com/nclex) and click the "Register" button. Provide your name, address, contact information and other required personal data. Create a username and password and submit your registration request.

      View the list of NCLEX testing centers in Utah and choose the one at which you want to take the NCLEX. Designate a date and time and continue the online registration.

      Enter your credit card information to pay the $200 NCLEX fee and confirm the test date, time and location. Submit your schedule request and keep a copy of the confirmation page for your records. You must receive approval from the Utah Board of Nursing before you can take the NCLEX.
