The University of Texas System offers online programs for a two-year Master of Sciences in Kinesiology and a Master of Education in Health and Kinesiology. Its TeleCampus offers the online degree program through any of four UT campuses--El Paso, Permian Basin, Pan American or Tyler. The TeleCampus program pools the resources of the University of Texas, and its program is oriented toward people who want careers in sports medicine, clinical exercise physiology, physical education, professional training and coaching. A student who wants to enter the program should apply at the nearest of the four campuses offering the program. Requirements for program acceptance include an undergraduate degree in a related field, GRE scores and a 3.0 or higher undergraduate GPA. All courses can be completed online. The University of Wyoming, which is based in Laramie, offers distance learning through its Outreach Credit Programs division. The university offers a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health, which is open to students who have a bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field. Once accepted into the program, students can choose to pursue thesis and non-thesis tracks and specialize in exercise and sport sciences, physical education teacher education or health promotion and education. Students can attend full-time or part-time and they can take classes on campus or online. The program uses a combination of online videos, teleconferencing, teleconferencing and email for coursework. The program is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The University of Massachusetts-Amherst offers an undergraduate online certificate in exercise physiology and nutrition. The program is designed as a supplemental certification for students pursuing degrees in exercise physiology, physical therapy, athletic training or other health related disciplines, as well as for professionals who are clinical exercise physiologists, registered dietitians, personal trainers, strength and conditioning specialists, athletes and coaches. Required course work includes introduction to kinesiology, human performance and nutrition, anatomy and physiology I and II with concurrent labs and diet, supplements and athletic performance. The program is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
