Online MSW Schools

The occupational outlook for social workers is rosy with job growth expected to be faster than average through 2018 in comparison to other occupations according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Social workers who want to take advantage of higher-paying opportunities and enhance their career advancement potential can earn a master's in social work (MSW). Major universities offer online MSW programs giving students the opportunity to study without interrupting their employment.
  1. Florida State University

    • The online MSW program at Florida State University in the state capital of Tallahassee is the first of its kind in the nation. Typical completion time for the program is two years. Admission is limited to students who have a bachelor's degree in social work or are transferring from a two-year social work program. Applicants must meet the same eligibility criteria as on-campus students including the submission of Graduate Record Examination scores. The MSW-required internship must be completed at an agency approved by the school. Students who take at least six hours of courses qualify for financial aid from FSU.
